While our Bahrain team was looking for a cause to support during Ramadan, they came across Feed the Need, a charity which offers free food to local communities by installing fridges around Bahrain. The idea is that people who live in the area can fill the fridge with donated food and drinks, thereby feeding those in need who cannot buy food or are unemployed. Our team jumped at this opportunity, since donating iftar during the holy month seemed very appropriate. In the days leading up to the event, the team held a staff auction of a gift they received from their internet provider, raising over BD76. After going grocery shopping with the money, they made up individual bags which contained items suitable for breaking the fast such as water, juice, yoghurt, labneh, biscuits, dates, chocolate and fruit. On 5 July – the day before Eid - 5 Onederworkers set out and filled 4 fridges in 3 different locations around Bahrain: two in a shopping mall, one at a mosque and one outside a cold store.
